Today is a sad day at our house. This morning when I came downstairs, I discovered that our pet parrot, Cowboy, died last night.
We got Cowboy 3 years ago when our friends uncle passed away. No one in their family wanted him, so Jeff took him in. Cowboy was 25 years old then. (They can live 75 +).
Cowboy had a potty mouth when he first came to live with us. Apparently his previous owner had quite the vocabulary and Cowboy picked up on it. I will never forget when he told the loud neighbor kids to f--- off. Thankfully he stopped cussing and we decided we could keep him.
He loved Jeff and nobody else. His favorite game was to chase me around the house and torment me. Then he would laugh at me loudly. Naughty bird! He kept me on my toes, that's for sure.
We will miss his "hello" when we walk in the door and his "cracker" every time we eat peanut butter.
We loved you Cowboy. (And don't worry, I won't let them bury you in the sandbox).

We are sadened to hear your news. Do we send flowers or crackers? Not sure on this one.
I'm sad I never got to meet him.
OH MY GOSH! I am sooo sad! He was the funniest little guy EVER! I LOVED hearing you tell stories about him! Dang it. Was he like laying there on the floor of the bird cage or what? I'm surprised you didn't put that picture in, considering your last post! That is so sad. Don't let Rusty get to him... Oh soooo sad... Dang it.
I can't believe he's gone. Are you going to have a memorial? Porter will be confused when he goes to your house next time and there is no bird. He always thought it was so funny to hear a bird talk. We will miss that bird.
awwwww! Im so sorry-but it sounds like he had a very happy last three years-
Oh the Cutchen family is sad. I am sure the rest of David's family will be sad when they hear about it. We are glad you enjoyed him for the time being.
I'm so sorry you guys lost your family pet. How are the kids taking it. my kids would be very upset i think. Are you going to get another one? I hear they are hard to take care of and pretty expensive. However i have always wanted one. Anyway, i enjoy your blog. I like that you write in it every day. I have something to look forward to when i wake up. To bad i don't live neer you because i would so use you and your friend for your cookies and cake. I have spouses socials for our squadron all the time. It would be nice to have you on hand. you are so talented. I had no idea. I need to get to know you guys better. What a cute family you have. I'm always jelious of the people who have both girls and boys. We just kept trying for that girl. we can only try one more time so pray for us. Sorry again for your loss.
Oh man! Poor Cowboy! Adia still remembers him and talks about him every once in a while. I like Shari's comment about the crackers...seriously Shari you are SO unsympathetic!!!
oh that is so sad. Staci told me tonight...
So, was he just laying on the floor of his cage or what? How is Jeff??
I am so sorry for your loss. I am sad for you and sad that I never got to meet him.
On another note, will you email me? I might want to order some cookies from you! :) (britanyut@yahoo.com) Thanks!
Poor Cowboy! And poor Jeff! Staci told us this past Sunday and the family was so sad. They were glad that you enjoyed him so much. I am sure it was all that smoking he lived with for years. Poor bird! Hope you guys find another one - especially one that doesn't swear...lol!
