Fourth of July Weekend 2016

The 4th of July was on a Monday this year, so we played the whole weekend.  Saturday we spent the day at Canyon lake with our friends the Stecks.  Awesome Day!  That night we sat outside in the street and lit off fireworks and had a blast.  Good times!

Spontaneous Disneyland Trip

This past weekend was a fun one.  I got to sneak away with my daughter Sammi and two good friends, Kim and Kaye.  We drove to California Sunday, hit Disneyland all day Monday and drove home Tuesday.

It was fun to leave our cares and worries at home and just play for a day.  These guys were so sweet to put up with me as I love the Tower of Terror and I made them ride it first thing.   Seriously, that is my favorite ride.  I can't stop giggling the whole time.

But the coolest thing of all was that I got to spend time with Sammi.  I love having an adult child.  She is so funny and clever.  I love to adventure with her.  She is an amazing person and friend.  It's fun to learn from each others life experiences.  I will miss her so much when she leaves to go back to school in August.   I'm glad we had a little vacation together this summer.

Ragnar LA

I must be getting old. Ragnar Relay's are fun, but oh so exhausting. 200 miles, 12 people, no sleep! The weather was beautiful in California, and I felt good running! Now I have to make a cake and paint my bedroom. Not quite as much fun, but at least I get sleep!

The 4th With Friends!

We got home from Utah on the 4th late that afternoon.  We hurried and unloaded the car and off we went to enjoy some fireworks with friends!  (I was so tired I don't think I was much fun.)
Why is it that driving poops you out, when all you do is sit?

Ragnar Rundown

Oh what a fun weekend!!!  Bear with me as I post a bunch of random pictures from the Ragnar Relay LA!  Here we all are at the finish line at Dana Point.  Yippeee!!
Check out our cool team shirts that me and Wendi made!
(We all live in the "Villages" community,  thus - The Village People).
Here's Jeff handing off to me at exchange 36.
Could you ask for a better view while running?
My husband had to be funny and wear short running shorts and spandex just to make us all laugh.   He kept us laughing the entire time!
Here we are at the start line full of nerves and excitement.  It was cold in Santa Barbara!  BRrrrr!
Here we are handing off again!
Van 2 waiting for the handoff.
Here's the whole team crossing the finish line together!!!
Here we are tanking up getting ready for our next run.
Good times.... good times!!!

Good Days Remembered

Our good friend Todd just found me on facebook and posted a bunch of pictures of he and Jeff when we were river guides back in the early 90's. (Eeek that makes me sound old).   These pictures were too much fun that I had to post them as well.   If you look hard you might see me in a couple.  Wasn't Jeff such a cutie?  (In a hairy smelly sort of way)

Now days Jeff isn't quite so hairy and he smells better than he did back then - but man oh man - I still LOVE him!

Warm Summer Day

It's freezing cold outside today (I am always cold) and a friend just emailed pictures they took of us wake boarding for the first time last summer.   Oh I long for some AZ heat and a few more freckles.
My hubby caught on right away and landed a few jumps.  I got up - but didn't quite get the "jumping the wake" thing down.  Maybe next time (hint hint Ryan and Lena).
The kids just enjoyed the ride!

Birthday Business!

I always get a little nervous a couple days after Christmas because we celebrate my daughters birthday.  It's hard to come up with good stuff when Christmas morning is still fresh in everyone's memory.

I think I did okay this year though - SHWEW!!

After the opening of presents and a birthday brunch - we decided the best way to celebrate a birthday was to go treasure hunting with our pals around the corner.  (Geocaching)

We were surprised to discover the treasure right under a natural arch.  Bonus!

Eventually we were done hunting and decided to dive into some chocolatey goodness - cupcakes made by the birthday girl herself.

They were a hit!

Then we piled in the car - out of the cold - and headed home.

Hope you had a happy one Sam!

The Weekend!

We had fun hanging out with friends in Show Low this weekend.
My favorite part of the trip was playing ball in the rain.
We hit the local rodeo and watched the poor cows get roped.
And the kids were lucky enough to score a horse ride from Chad and Laura.  (They have never been on a horse before).

Good Times!
