I love the zebra print on this cake! I was worried how it would turn out as I cut out each zebra stripe by hand, and because I had never done an animal print before - but I really like it!
Yes, I'm a blog-stalker, and I have enjoyed reading your blog, I admit. I love looking at all the wonderful things you do, (reminds me of me JK/LOL :) Though we've never met, I could see the two of us getting along smashingly as friends. Alas, though, I live in Washington state. (Maybe in the next life, perhaps??) And your recipes are truly amazing. I have been duly impressed with your writings; fun, witty, clever, and some downright poignant. OK, so to the real reason for this comment....I love to see what creative things you come up with for your cakes. May I suggest a CAMOFLAUGE (sp?) cake...I've always wondered what that would look like and I know you would do an amazing job. I would love to get back into cake decorating....one day! And for the life of me, I don't understand how you get the frosting on your cookies to be so smooth, or the lettering so perfect! Any tips? That would be a very handy post! In the meantime -- a sister in the Gospel!
Melissa, this has nothing to do with the cake although it's beautiful but we just got back from the beach. Thanks for all the tips, you were right on about everything. We had a blast and intend on going next fall break. The highs were in the 80's so it was plenty hot for the beach and in the 50's at night so we weren't freezing. We couldn't have had a better view. Thanks, it was well worth it!!!
